What are/is your favorite movie? Mine would have to be Sherlock Holmes and Edward Scissorshands.
I am a success today because I had a friend
who believed in me and I didn't have the
heart to let him down.

I love these movies! I like the new Star Wars movies, too, though. Especially the third one. And I like: Merrily We Live, The Princess Bride, The Thin Man movie series (there are six of them), the new Alice in Wonderland, the old Nancy Drew movies with Bonita Granville, and Remember the Titans. I really want to see Inkheart. Was it good? Did it follow the book well? Also, I notice that you like the Beatles. I also like the Beatles, but I haven't seen any of their movies. Would you recommend them?

I love The Princess Bride! Also Pirates of the Caribbean and the Spiderman movies. (I knew I was forgetting some...)
I also liked Alice in Wonderland and Remember the Titans.
I have Inkheart on DVD. I loved it. I read the books after I watched the movie and I have to say I like the books better. The movie followed some points in the book. Overall I thought it was good.
Yes, I love The Beatles! They are definitely my favorite band. I have 10 of their albums (I only need 4 more.) I love their movies! They are really funny. The Beatles are hilarious! I haven't seen all their movies yet but hopefully I will soon.
I also have Paul McCartney's birthday

I'll have to ask my mom if I can get Inkheart from the library. It sounds good!
That is so cool that you have that much Beatles music! I really want their albums. I'll have to ask my mom if I can watch their movies. Are they "family friendly"? And that is very cool that you have Paul McCartney's birthday. I wish I shared a birthday with one of them... haha

Yep, me and Paul are exactly 50 years apart haha.
I can't really think of anything that's bad in the movies. But if I do, I'll pm you
The Beatles: First U.S. Visit is a documentary about well....The Beatles' first U.S. visit (That one's self-explanatory haha). It pretty much follows The Beatles everywhere. And also shows footage from their first performances on The Ed Sullivan Show.
The train rides are the best! The Beatles are hilarious....one part I remember that's really funny is when they are getting off the train it's showing on the screen that they are in Washington D.C. And Ringo says, "It's great being here in New York, okay!"
And someone from the crowd yells out that he's actually in Washington, and Ringo says, "Oh is that the place?, I don't know, Washington....I'm just moving so fast..."
A Hard Day's Night is also somewhat of a documentary. But it's scripted. It's sorta like a day in the life of The Beatles. It's got a lot of great songs in the movie including, Can't buy me love, A Hard Day's Night, I should Have Known Better, and If I Fell. My favorite part in the movie is where they get in trouble and are sent to their room, and on the way up to the room, Ringo finds an fire exit and they all go outside and Ringo says, "We're out!" And then they run down stairs, out into a field and they pretty much run around and play. It's funny cause they're acting like little boys. It's really cute.
Help! is a spy movie spoof where this cult (and also a scientist) is trying to kill Ringo because he's wearing a sacrificial ring (which he can't take off). It's a really funny movie where The Beatles travel all over the world (Austrian Alps, Scotland Yard, Salisbury Plain, Buckingham Palace, Bahamas). It also has some great songs in it including, Help!, You're Going to Lose That Girl, Ticket to Ride, and The Night Before.
Overall these movies are really funny. The Beatles are very witty. I laughed alot! haha
I haven't seen Magical Mystery Tour, Yellow Submarine, and Let It Be yet. But hopefully I will soon!
I haven't seen the Anthology movies yet either, but I read the book!
Also, you can get all the new remastered Beatles albums at Walmart and Target. You can also order them off the official website. I have all except Sgt. Pepper's, Yellow Submarine, Abbey Road, and Let It Be.

Awesome! I love how you know what a lot of the movies are about. They sound all very interesting, and funny. I laughed out loud when I read that Ringo quote.
I didn't know they had a book! I'll definitely need to check that out. And I did not know that all the albums were avaliabe through Walmart or Target. That is very good info to have. Thanks!

You're welcome!
Actually I wouldn't really recommend reading the Anthology book because it gets really personal with The Beatles. And I mean, REALLY personal. And also there is language in the book, because it's just a bunch of interviews all packed in one book. And all of The Beatles (especially John) say bad words.
But, John wrote three books and as far as I can tell there isn't anything bad in them. I have to check them out a bit more though.
There are also several biographies about The Beatles that are really interesting.
Haha! Yeah, I love Ringo! He is so funny and adorable.

I like the Lord of the Rings, The Princess Bride, Toystory I, and Pride and Prejudice.
To be great is to see yourself clearly, small as you are. This is because it is essential to greatness to see oneself in a true light, which is to see oneself as small.
(This is nonsense. Can you see why? If so, tell me.)

Yes, they are. I also like the two Narnia movies made so far, but they are not quite in the same league as the others. It is a kind of odd selection, but I like them for different reasons.

Okay, maybe I won't check out the Anthology book. haha I bet there's probably ten million other books written about them, though. I don't think I'll be in want of a book to read regarding the Beatles. You mentioned a couple bios in your message, even! Maybe you could pm me the titles of them, so I can look them up. Just an idea.
I seriously need to ask my mom if I can buy their cds... I'm pretty broke right now, though, so I think I'm going to wait a bit.
Thanks again for all this awesome info! I'm definitely going to use it, and hopefully soon.

Yeah, I'll pm you with some titles of some books. haha I'm not sure if they have John's books at the library. I think you can only buy them off Amazon. They aren't really reading books per say...it's just some things he wrote like poems and stories and sketches and drawings he made. It's pretty cool.
Yeah, the albums aren't that expensive. They're like $13. Maybe a bit more. I guess depending on where you live. haha
I love all their albums. But I like their older stuff better. Mostly because they look the best when they were younger (no long hair on John and George, and no beard on Paul that looks like a black bear died on his face) ; all clean shaven with short hair and beautiful....haha! And I think their older songs are amazing....
You're welcome! I'm actually really glad I found someone that likes The Beatles too!

Ok, thanks. I get kinda overwhelmed with all the Beatles books out there. It's very difficult to pick just one (or two, or three) to read. And John's books sound cool! Some library somewhere in my area might have them... haha
I'd better start saving my money. 14 albums at $13 apiece is quite a bit of money! For me, at least.
I love your description of Paul's face later on in the band's years. I agree, he looks very strange with a beard. It covers his nice face. They all looked strange when they were older. More mature maybe, but also...dirtier, for lack of a better word. More 70's-ish. haha They were cuter when they were younger. I don't know if I like their older songs better, though... I don't really know that much about when the songs I like were written.
Yeah, I like a ton of old music. The Beatles are just one of the more popular bands that I like.

|
|
I love oldies too! The Beatles are just my favorite!
What I did when buying the albums was that I would just get one, once a month. Not all at once.
Well, I know when all their albums were released...so if you tell me the song names, I'm pretty sure I can tell you when they were written. I think I like their older stuff better because as they got older, they were writing about way different things...

That's awesome that you like oldies music! It seems like no one my age does. haha
Good buying plan. I'll have to do something like that.

I know what you mean. They did write about different things as they got older. Their songs got weirder. haha

That is so cool that you're dad has old music you can listen to! My dad does, too, but it's practically all 70's and 80's Christian rock and country. Which is good, I guess, but they are all records, so it's quite hard to listen to them. Dad doesn't like people touching his record player. haha
Some old bands/singers I like are RUSH, Steve Taylor (Christian oldies haha), and Boston. Those are like the only ones that I have actually heard several of their songs, and liked them. I'm not very good at remembering the names of old bands that I like, just specific songs. I know there are more that I like! I just can't remember what (or who) they are.

Yes! I love the Beach Boys! I totally forgot about them. They crack me up with their songs. I love how they are so...Californian, and beachy. haha

There is this one song called 'Back in the USSR', have you heard it? The Beatles sing it and they intentionally made it sound like The Beach Boys. It's cool

Yes, I've heard that song, and yes, now that I think about it, it definitely has some Beach Boys undertones! That's too funny.
